James Bowers
Strategic Partner

I am Jim Bowers, Programs Manager at the New York State Sheriffs’ Association, in Albany, NY.  School safety is one of the primary concerns of our Sheriffs today, and we are always looking for ways to help improve communications and interactions between our schools and all first responders. That is why we have engaged to help introduce the CLPS/Tap App program to school districts in New York. I am a native of Latham, NY, and a graduate of Siena College with a degree in business.  I began my career in sales at Verizon Yellow Pages (when paper phone books were actually used). That led to other work in the telecom industry, selling line access, where I was a top sales performer for three different phone companies.  My work with law enforcement began when I joined a firm in Brewster, NY selling storage solutions for police agencies, the military, schools, and others, including storage for weapons, evidence, tactical gear, accessories, and records.  It was an easy transition from there to working directly with the Sheriffs of New York, managing many of the community service programs of the New York State Sheriffs’ Association. I reside with my wife, Heather, in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, just across the border from New York’s Capital District.  In my free time I enjoy golf, boating, and managing and maintaining my real estate.
